Johannes Endler is a DOC Fellow in Religious Studies (2019–2023), generously funded by the Austrian Academy of Sciences. He holds an M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Vienna (2016), a B.A. in Social Work and Social Management from the FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences Graz (2010), and did further training in psychotherapy science. After working in youth welfare and social counselling he now dedicates himself to his doctoral research project, which focuses on discourses about pregnancy in alternative religious contexts since the nineteenth century. His research interests include the relationship between religious and medical, psychological and everyday experience fields of knowledge in occultism, New Age, and the contemporary holistic milieu.
