Dominic Zoehrer is an FWF Fellow (2019–2022) at the Department of Religious Studies. Before he worked as a project assistant and an MA7 Fellow (2017–2019). He holds a B.Sc. in Physics (2009) and an M.A. in Religious Studies (2016), both from the University of Vienna. His research interest takes into view the holistic milieu as a segment of contemporary religious/spiritual culture. His current work under the FWF funded project "Imagining Energy: The Practice of Energy Healing between Sense-Experience and Sense-Making," focuses on biographical narratives and discursive strategies of energy healing practitioners in Austria. In this context, he investigates processes of boundary-work with respect to scientific and biomedical frames of reference, the increasing demand for energetic services, as well as diverse approaches of professionalisation. He was born in London and lives in Vienna since 2004.
