FWF Fellow (2019–2022)
Dominic Zoehrer is an FWF Fellow at the Department of Religious Studies since June 2019. His doctoral research as part of the FWF project "Imagining Energy: The Practice of Energy Healing between Sense-Experience and Sense-Making," supervised by Karl Baier, focuses on the history of energy healing. Therein he explores the discursive web of mesmerism, vitalism, occultism, and holistic healing approaches, and compares central explanatory paradigms employed by the protagonists of energy healing. Dominic Zoehrer holds an M.A. in Religious Studies (2016) and a B.Sc. in Physics (2009).
