Davide Marino is a Research Fellow at the Department of Religious Studies, University of Vienna. From 2019 to 2023, he was HKPFS Fellow at the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He holds an M.A. in Philosophy (University of Turin, 2013) and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies (The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 2023). He is interested in the interplay of East Asian religions (especially Chinese) with European Esotericism, with particular attention to Traditionalism. In his Ph.D. he explored the relevance of Chinese and Vietnamese religious ideas in the work of Albert de Pouvourville and René Guénon. While a Research Fellow at the Department he works on the reception of China and Japan within Traditionalism.
