Sarah-Allegra Schönberger is uni:docs Fellow in Religious Studies (2013–2016). She holds a B.A. in Japanese Studies (2010) and an M.A. in Religious Studies (2012). She is currently completing her doctoral research on iconographical transformation processes of the Buddhist guardian deity Vaiśravaṇa. Her research interests include visual religion and iconographical transformation processes in Buddhism, as well as religious nationalism with a particular focus on the comparative dimension of Japanese ultranationalism and National Socialism. Alongside academe, she worked for the Religions Department at the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). She lives with her partner and two cats in a beautiful flat in Linz.
