David Krych is an FWF postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Religious Studies. He is involved in the project "Kommentierung von Friedrich Nietzsches Die Fröhliche Wissenschaft" (FWF P 24635). He holds an M.A. (magister philosophiae) in Philosophy (2011) and Theatre-, Film-, and Media Studies (2014), both from the University of Vienna, as well as a Ph.D. (doctor philosophiae) in Theatre-, Film- and Media Studies (2017). From 2013–2016 he was a uni:docs Fellow at the Department of Theatre-, Film-, and Media Studies working on a doctoral thesis on "The Vienna Baiting Amphitheatre: Theatrality and Animality in the Eighteenth Century". His research interests include eighteenth and nineteenth century (religious) philosophy and culture as well as theatre historiography. His interests for studying led him from Germany to Vienna, where he lives since 2006.
