Yichen Yang is a visiting doctoral researcher in Religious Studies, originally based at the School of Philosophy at Fudan University, Shanghai. She holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature (2011) from Xinyang Normal University (信陽師範學院) as well as an M.A. in Chinese Philosophy (2014) from South Central University for Nationalities (中南民族大學) in Wuhan. Yichen is currently completing her doctoral research on the religious dimension of Chinese funeral etiquette in premodern China. She is also involved in a Chinese National Social Science Foundation-funded project on Yìjīng philosophy. While at the Department she focuses in particular on the theoretical framework as well as the systematic Elements of her research.
