Sandra Yvonne Freregger is an FWF postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Religious Studies. She is involved in the project "Kommentierung von Friedrich Nietzsches Die Fröhliche Wissenschaft" (FWF P 24635). The project aims at commenting and annotating Nietzsche's Gay Science (1882) with a focus on philological aspects, which are key elements of the respective Nachberichtsband within the critical edition (KGW) to be published with de Gruyter. Dr Freregger holds an M.A. in Communication and Media Studies (2007) and Philosophy (2007) both from the University of Vienna, as well as a Ph.D. in Philosophy (2015) from the University of Vienna and the École pratique des hautes études (EPHE) in Paris. She also studied at the universities Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Paris XIII. From 2010 to 2011, she was a doctoral assistant at the Department of Religious Studies, and from 2012 to 2013 pensionnaire étrangère at the École normale supérieure (ENS, rue d’Ulm). Her research interests include nineteenth century culture and (religious) philosophy as well as manuscript studies. For her Ph.D. thesis Theorie und Praxis der Freundschaft bei Friedrich Nietzsche, she received an award by the Dr. Maria Schaumayer Foundation.
