Sampsa A. Saarinen is Osk. Huttunen Fellow in Religious Studies (2014–2017). He holds a B.A. (2011) and an M.A. (2012) in Religious Studies from the University of Helsinki, Finland. Since the beginning of his studies, his main academic interest lies in the history of secularisation with a focus on the development in Europe. Thanks to the generous support of the Osk. Huttunen Foundation he continues his specialisation in this field at the University of Vienna. His current research focuses on Nietzsche's criticism of religion.
