Ramón Soneira Martínez is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Religion Research Group of the Department of Classical Studies at the Austrian Archaeological Institute, Austrian Academy of Sciences. He holds a B.A. in History (UCM, Madrid, 2015), an M.A. in Religious Studies (UCM, Madrid, 2016) and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Erfurt and the University of Graz (cotutelle, 2022). Dr Soneira Martínez is interested in the transhistorical and comparative study of unbelief, focusing mainly on atheistic positions in Greco-Roman religions. His research has resulted in different publications, characterised by the application of theories and methods of the study of religions and non-religion to the analysis of ancient societies. As a Research Fellow of the Department of Religious Studies, he will contribute to the Department's research focus on the interdisciplinary relationship between Religious Studies and Classics.
