Lana Kazkaz is an Associate Professor at Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, Spain, specialising in religion, media, and hate speech in the Middle East. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication from Ramon Llull University (2023) with a thesis on Extremism and Hate Speech in Arabic-Speaking Media. She also holds an M.A. (2017) in New Media and Journalism from the Jordan Media Institute, where she also worked as a fact-checking journalist. Since 2022, she has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Blanquerna Observatory on Media, Religion, and Culture, and she currently teaches in the Department of Global Communication Management. She was also a 2025 GINGKO Interfaith Fellow, participating in dialogue among scholars of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Her research focuses on the intersection of religion, media, and political narratives in the Arab world, with particular attention to the media representation of Christians in Muslim-majority countries.
